This past week I continued my ISM work and attempted to set up interviews with local professionals. I submitted a final draft of my resume and updated my website, and I also completed my second annotated bibliography. Over the past week, I also looked through the faculty lists of SMU and UTD to try to find professors whom I could reach out to. Although I received a couple of rejections at first, I was very happy to see some professors respond positively after the weekend. This weekend was very busy for me. Between my cross country meet and the at least 10 hours that I spent of Calculus III, I had little time to spend on anything else. Hopefully, I’ll be caught up soon since I have the research assessment and topic proposal to complete this week. If I have time, I also hope to do some more coding—my last piece of work was working in Google Colab to extend the work that I did with Hao last year and make it more interactive. On the other hand, I’m looking forward to scheduling interviews with professors and meeting them. Last year, I understood very little about my topic until I spoke with experts in the field. This year, I’m excited to learn more since I’m starting with a better understanding already, and I’m looking forward to meeting with my mentor soon as well.
