This past week, I went on a mentor visit, continued work on my final product, and decided where I’ll be going to college! When I went to SMU, I discussed what to add to my XYMOL demonstrations and whether to create a poster with my mentor. Since then, I have completed my walkthrough for the Python package and begun work on my ISM 2 research poster.
On Thursday, I decided that I would be going to Yale next year! I plan on majoring in chemistry as a Bulldog. I am especially excited to visit the campus just after FPN for the admitted student days, where I will be presenting my ISM work from last year. I have been working on updating my poster for this, and I believe that all my practice presenting in ISM will serve me well in New Haven. I am also very thankful to my mentor and to Dr. Tao for guiding me through the world of academia because my research significantly helped my application.
Over the past couple of weeks, I have been meeting with other Yalies, and I really look forward to meeting more. Aside from that, I will be preparing for Final Presentation Night. I got my invitations back today and cut them out—I can’t believe it’s already time to give them out.
