This past week, I worked on my (overdue) ISM original work speech and celebrated my 18th birthday! My speech went well, and I’m proud of my use of props and movement.
The district gave me a surprise birthday present on Friday: school was canceled due to a storm! I went out to dinner at Sixty Vines with my friends, celebrated Anishka’s birthday the following day, and overall just relaxed. I needed the break, and I had a wonderful three-day weekend. The Frisco Public Library also opened its new building this Saturday—I visited over the weekend with friends and updated my digital portfolio in one of the study rooms. It’s nice to already have my website structure from last year that I can simply build on.
It’s hard to believe that the Research Showcase is coming up so soon after Spring Break. I’m definitely looking forward to it being at The Star and getting to see ISM students from all over the district. Until then, I’ll be preparing for the DECA state conference with my partner and going on a road trip somewhere in Texas over the break. Even though I’m not visiting the Arches as originally planned, I’m still really looking forward to having some time off from school. Here’s hoping that I get all my AP Literature work done beforehand!
