Last week, I brainstormed ideas for my original work and wrote up an original work proposal to cement my plan. I intend to meet with my mentor this week to get some advice about refining my original work. I am looking forward to working on the project, but I’d like to have a solid idea of what I’m going to do. The past week, I also reflected on my meeting with Dr. Son in an interview assessment, and I will write another one of those this week about Dr. Nielsen. When I wasn’t writing for ISM, I was working on my college applications and preparing for homecoming weekend, which was really fun. I went to Dallas for photos and food and had a great night overall. This week, I will need to write up slides for my research presentation. My biggest challenge, just like last year, is to figure out how to explain my topic in an understandable way. To that end, I plan to watch some lectures over the topic and look at my previous slides, reflecting on what worked and what didn’t. I’m looking forward to sharing my learning with everyone else—I just need to know how to distill it.
