This week I continued work on my LinkedIn profile and my digital portfolio by adding connections and by fleshing out tabs, and I also greatly expanded my knowledge of what it's like to work in the field of AI as an artificial intelligence specialist. I was surprised to learn that AI specialists frequently collaborate with experts in other fields, although this makes sense because of how intertwined AI is with calculus and statistics. I also learned that most specialists have postgraduate degrees in computer science and that the job pays well: the median yearly salary is $125,000. For the future, I'm curious about the opportunities for AI internships in college.
Learning more about the field of artificial intelligence enabled me to write interview questions specific to my topic. I didn't face any serious setbacks this week, but I had to put effort into ensuring the questions weren't too technical or specific. I successfully finished my list of questions, and I'm looking forward to testing them out for feedback with someone else. Currently I'm focusing on the field of AI and related careers, but I'm considering shifting the focus of my questions to designing AI models. I want to learn more about the programming side, so I will look into that next week, in addition to developing my digital portfolio and searching for a potential mentor.
