I have been enjoying Winter Break the past couple of weeks, mostly by resting at home and spending time with friends and family. Thankfully, by January 1, I finished all my college applications. Now I’ll have to wait until March to hear back. I visited Fort Worth over the break and rung in the New Year with a sort of concert. I made cookies and learned to bake Bienenstich (German Bee Sting Cake) with friends. I didn’t quite work on anything related to computational chemistry, but I’m sure I’ll be doing that soon enough.
It feels strange to have just one semester of high school remaining. Some days I can’t imagine living away from Frisco and others I’m ready to move into my dorm room. Although it would be nice to have little or no work at this point, I still find myself plunged into DECA as I prepare for the District CDC, into Orchestra as I get ready for Solo & Ensemble, and into Mu Alpha Theta as I plan out the upcoming competition. Regardless, I’m determined to make the most of my last few months here, and I’m excited for the rest of the senior events, especially Casino Night. Here’s to a fun and meaningful last semester!
